Does anyone remember Daria? Though this show was never quite popular amongst my friends in the 90's. I do remember catching a marathon on a Saturday as i snacked on pop tart frosted berry snack stix (yum) but i won't get into that!
WELL... once again i have given into watching my own Daria marathon, after missing out on its short return to MTV in July and August of 2012. I was delighted to see how educational and even nihilistic this show was and why i hadn't given it more praise in the past. Jane Lane said it best when she showed her annoyance to Daria's use of every "ten dollar word". Lol i enjoy her use of vocabulary and in turn am more dedicated to understanding what the heck she is saying half the time. (thankfully i have a smartphone and easy access to a net dictionary)
Watching every single episode... i know where did i get the time within the last past few weeks, I just realized this show must return! It takes on a different aspect, a youth who doesn't try to conform to her peers and its a breathe of fresh air i tell you!
How can you not love her way of rebellion. She is a leader not a follower. This is what should be broadcasted instead of the jersey shore! sheeshers
Anyway with Daria's brainy sarcasm and with Jane's artsy sarcasm this spoof was a hit in my book! Ive heard talk of this show making a comeback, i have no idea how to go about harassing the makers into actually following through with such a rumor but I'm crossing my fingers. The show ended with the gang leaving for college so i don't see why MTV wouldn't jump at the chance to air a show towards a time where these character would fit in the most.
Haha and best of all, how could anyone not love the characters alter egos in the ending credits of every episode. if i were more of an artist i would jump at the chance to do this with all the pictures of my loved ones. ;)
